Overall, I thought it was a pretty good opening weekend. The fact all the Away sides won suggests the tournament might have some more surprises to come.

Having said that... even if they don't get the slam, I reckon Ireland are nailed on to win.

For the other teams, France and England's success both depend on them developing their new systems. I could see either team coming anywhere from 2nd to 5th.

Wales are similar. Will first-half Wales or second-half Wales turn up for the rest of the tournament?

Scotland looked pretty ragged at points the other day, but holding on against that comeback attempt was impressive in itself - almost as impressive as the dominance in the first 50 minutes. I think they're probably slightly underrated.

I think Italy might beat any of France, Wales or Scotland, but probably only one of them. I still think they'll come sixth overall!

Final predictions:

  1. Ireland
  2. Scotland
  3. England
  4. Wales
  5. France
  6. Italy

I'm most certain about the top and bottom of the table. Places 2-5 are all very up for grabs. Plus, I'm English, so I'm biased! Very possible we do worse than 3rd.

That battle for 2nd is juicy. Hoping someone can peg Ireland back, don't discount England at Twickenham

I was so getting ready to make jokes about England not deserving a place in the 6N at halftime. Ah well.
