Is that an accurate calculation? It seems like an insane amount, do you have a link to a paper or article? I'd love to share that with family and friends, many of them don't see the problem with an extra degree or 2 ...
I got the yield range of the Hiroshima bomb from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_weapon_yield and used 60 TJ as a middle estimate.
I got the increase in Ocean Heat Content between 2020 and 2021 from here: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00376-022-1461-3 and used 14 ZJ as a middle estimate.
Then I divided one by the other and rounded down to the nearest 10 million Hiroshima bombs, cause who cares about a couple million of those here and there?
Nothing will change until we start executing or incarcerating CEOS & politicians for ecocide.
Most in power simply do not care.
As long as there's money to be made nothing will change.
