Google? Unstable commitment to a project? That's crazy talk!

I mean, Google has been unstable about AR for about ten years now. I'm not surprised at this decision.

Wild. If they could get the display tech small enough to fit in even thick frames (which can be pretty stylish) this would be a money printer. People loved to shit on the original Google Glass, but I'm convinced it was just some kind of hivemind bullshit. "Hur dur dumb glasses. It has a big ol' notch on the front hurr." It was first gen AR, of course it was gonna look a little bulky. So the entire industry cooled on what would and still could be an amazing technology.

Drives me mad thinking about what we could have if we hadn't scared the CEOs of these tech firms away from it.

For parents, imagine some glasses where you have the kids wear a token or tie it to a device, and then I can see where they are in a crowd. So many hassles and scares averted.

Infinite possibilities down the drain cause some kids on line goofed on the bulging projector.

Google still has an AR division? I assumed they killed it years ago when glass flopped and then went away

It flopped, they killed it, brought it back, killed it again, relaunched a new division for software only, then killed that. That's big brain business management right there. Pichai has been the biggest failure of a ceo I've seen in a very long time. It's really incredible.

Wow, that's almost worse than their seemingly constant churn in the chat space
