France is getting more and more authoritarian lately.

sounds like MPAA's EU version wants to lob together "piracy" and "phishing" protections into one single thing and muddy the water. Like, don't shift the responsibility to browser eh? Just implement a "Great France Firewall" and hire Chinese specialist?

It is very easy to register and have signed verified domains that doing decent enough scam/phishing until it is reported and blacklisted. If they spend more on education and special program to teach common folks about safe internet behavior, how to identify scams, it will be more effective. (the tech savvy people can freaking build their own fork of browser to go around legislation, there is no stopping people doing that.

I believe the Lemmy software does that automatically when the same link has already been posted on other federated instances.
