Checo is cracking. I kind of feel for him.

Curious to see who they’re giving the seat to; I don’t think they’ll be promoting Tsunoda.

Agreed. I think Tsunoda is great but throwing him into that RB right now would like what they did to Albon, it would be way too soon.

he's had two years, albon was almost brand new by comparison

I think Tsunoda isn't quite there yet, he's still too rash in certain moments. He has improved a lot, but he still has some way to go before he can get a seat at RBR.

I also genuinely doubt if Checo will be out of the seat. Sure, he's way behind Max, but that would also be for his replacement (as long as it isn't Lewis or Fernando, but they won't sign at RBR I think). RBR is comfortably leading both championships, and they don't have to manage an intra-team battle. Must be nice being them at the moment.

But if they do replace him, I'm putting my money on Hulkenberg. He was also the other serious centender for the seat when they picked up Perez. He is driving very well in the Haas. He will know his place in the team. And to be honest, I just want to see him on the podium one day...

Couple of observations/predictions.

  • Checo is gone from RB end of this year.
  • De Vries doesn’t last the week
  • Sergeant doesn’t last the month
  • Alonso will do a brill soundbite on how talented Lance is
  • Verstappen will win

the ongoing downfall of Checo is really astounding. Maybe I'm just losing perspective on his performance because his teammate is checks notes on track to be one of the true GOATs, but it really seems like he's been beefing it.

Man, as a Mexican, I had some serious hopium earlier in the year that Checo could have a chance at winning the Mexican GP, that's my dream lol...

But now, I think i'll be lucky if he even gets to participate in that race.

I think everyone is overreacting on checo. He is in 2nd place and red bull will win everything this year. I doubt they will end his contact early if this is still the scenario by the end of the year. He will be gone after 2024 though.

I think people who claim he'll be gone over the summer are overreacting for sure. There is no need for RB to be that drastic. He has, however, been pretty underwhelming, and I think Red Bull will for sure consider their options going into '24. They can afford to give him the rest of the season to sort himself out, but if they expect other teams to be able to close the gap sooner rather than later then they need a number 2 who is more consistent.

I need aston to setup up their Quali pace so that they can actually benefit from their race pace

The most important thing tomorrow is to see whether Alonso shows the same generosity, that he showed in the Spanish GP. 6th or 7th shouldn't matter right.

Trying not to get excited about Ferrari's potential for tomorrow...

The higher they start, the more potential for a Ferrari Moment ™...

Almost missed quali because of the extra special weekend again

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

This is by no means an original thought—but sprint weekends really do suck.

LET'S GO LANDO! Seems like the upgrades are working well! I hope he can get a mega result after last race.

Anymore to go around :(

I only was able to watch Q3. I was bummed by Alex’s lap getting deleted but another opportunity for Williams makes me happy.

What happened to Checo in Q2?
