Here but zero interest in the game. I love the exploration and worlds of the Souls games / ER. I do love the boss fights, but they're secondary to the exploration for me. So the short loop with a random boss fight at the end doesn't appeal.
Elden Ring

Fair enough!
Man, am I! Just wrapped a fourth playthrough of Elden Ring to get ready for Nightreign. I watched Fightin’ Cowboys tournament play last night and I have to say, the frantic rate of play has me intimidated. But I am stoked to get in there tomorrow.
Im pumped, too!
Currently playing through Shadow of the Erdtree with my wife (yay, Seamless Coop mod). The next game on our list is Nightreign. Honestly, I expect it to hold our attention for maybe a month before we get tired of the grindy nature of the game's design. That said, I do think the game has potential for long term engagement by the community. Similar games, like Left 4 Dead 2 or Vermintide 2 have managed to hold onto some level of player base. Though, the latter is still releasing levels 7 years post-launch, which likely helps. It will be interesting to see how level design works out in Nightreign. For the trailers, it sounds like the levels will be somewhat random, though I suspect it's going to be a case of pre-defined chunks thrown together like legos. This can lead to a lot of variety, though it may just mean memorizing a few dozen chunks and sprinting through them. With the only real changes being which chunks you have to sprint through. This could easily lead to a feeling of awkward and disconnected levels.
So, while I'm cautiously hopeful that Nightreign will be a fun game, I'm also not expecting a whole lot out of it.
I'm still meaning to finish the base game. In my backlog.
Still here! I'm waiting for the dedicated 2-player mode and maybe a sale, as much as I love Elden Ring I'm not in a rush to play this since it sounds similar to a remix gamemode than a $40 experience.
I'm excited to see what others say and especially about how it actually performs in terms of multiplayer. Will probably wait til I see a sale to pick it up, I'm not chomping at the bit to play it for the price just yet.
After reading the Rock, Paper, Shotgun review, not so much. I still haven't finished elden ring so I'm more likely to go back to that than start a new thing that's more of the same but not quite. It's taking random characters from other games (Nameless king from DS3 is a named example in the RPS review) so it feels like an attempt to make money from existing assets rather than a genuine attempt to do something creative or interesting. My friends will probably get it which means I'll probably get it but I'm not convinced we'll stick with it.
