I swear to God if some idiot comes here to whine about how genocide Joe would have been better I'll stalk him to personally slap him in the face

How different things would be if he had been our president.

His EO's alone would have moved us further forward than any Democrat since LBJ.

But it was a good thing that his candidacy made the Democrats show us who they really are.

Bernie is completely right. What has happened in Gaza has became so unacceptable.

I only see the highlights from the Internet, the "yas queen" moments.

Is he ever not right?

Bernie's basically made his whole career out of being on the right side of issues

Sanders rips US-backed New Holocaust

FIFY

By the way AOC just voted in favour of a new ADL-backed "antisemitism" definition so I guess she's not a genuinely leftwing humanitarian successor for Sanders.

Ha that was disappointing =(

The left in this country is fucking cooked.

Its a shame that even the most progressive politicians have some really backwards takes/voting records to help keep themselves in office.

Remember the Berlin Airlift?

I really wish one of these world powers had the balls to tell Israel to go fuck itself and fly aid in anyway.

Well there's your problem, you still think the United States is a civilized country.

*Added missing word.

Egypt is the only way in but I guess they do what Israel says. Ironic given their history.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 15 hours ago

No it's not

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

At this stage Israel controls the Rafah crossing, so Egypt doesn't have a way to send stuff in unless they try to force the issue with military involvement.

And obviously they're dependent on the US for military aid, so if they tried they'd get cut off immediately.

Not exactly ironic; Egypt waged a few flashy wars against Israel but we've been kowtowing to them for at least two decades. Egypt is the Arab state most complicit in Israel's atrocities against Palestinians.

Egypt is the Arab state most complicit in Israel’s atrocities against Palestinians.

You say that like Egypt is not another country that's dominated by the US. The "Arabs" they rose up and took back control of their country in 2011 only to have it taken away from them again in a US supported coup, thanks Obama! Would Egyptians themselves support the genocide like we know most Israelis do?

Absolutely not, but Egypt the state is still very much in bed with Israel. Also do you have a source for US support for the coup?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Yes, the unwillingness to condemn and the ongoing support of the US for the despot that took away Egyptians' democracy.

What I got from the article was some marginal complicity rather than June 2013 being a full-fledged US-supported coup. The US should've taken and should take a harsher stance against the Egyptian military junta, but that's one thing and the US being implicated in the coup is another.
