"Die Ergebnisse der Tests sollen noch ausgewertet werden."

Aber vorher schonmal die Finanzierung auslaufen lassen und alles abbauen. Genau mein Humor.

This was designed decades ago, before the viability of BEV trucks was fully proven. So is not as ludicrously a dumb idea as it seems now. But time has passed this concept by and it's time to put it where it belongs, on the trash heap of failed ideas.

Ok, I don’t speak German, I didn’t read the article, I’m just staring at this picture trying to understand how it’s going to work. So, the truck is in the left lane connected to the electrical network on top. There are cars behind it, so it’s not an exclusive lane. Now, suppose there’s a slow car in front of the truck. The truck can’t pass by the left, it’s the slow car that must go to the left to allow the truck to pass, but that violates traffic laws. Is that right?

The Truck is able to pass the slower car, since the trick is equipped with a accu its not exclusevly dependend on the overhead grid. It will lower its "Stromabnehmer", pass the car an reconnect it to the grid.

So, the truck has batteries inside. Thanks!

It's relatively unusual that trucks pass by cars on the Autobahn because trucks have a maximum speed limit of 80 km/h and there is a general minimum speed limit of 60 km/h. In fact, it is very uncommon that there is a vehicle slower than 80 km/h.

Technically not correct: your car needs to be able to do 60kph to enter the Autobahn, but you're not required to go at least those 60kph.

I’m just thinking how something like this would work where I live. Here, trucks can go up to 105km/h. When I’m pulling my trailer, I usually go at 100, so everyone needs to overtake me. There were instances when a small hill started the moment a truck was overtaking me, so I quickly reduced my speed to allow the truck to pass, but the truck was on the left lane overtaking me.

It is also meant to not be on the whole Autobahn system. It is meant to be for only a few kilometers for recharging while driving and after that trucks could overtake again. I think the idea is to not take away too much haul capacity from E-Trucks by batteries.

how it’s going to work

Ftr, the article is about the fact that the experiment is being concluded and the track being shut down soon.

In the sense that it didn’t work? Does it say why?

No further funding, but they're still analyzing data.
