Federated universe is a decentralized, federated social media network that is interoperable with each other by using ActivityPub protocol.


Rules

4. Ad hominem attacksAny kind of personal attacks are expressly forbidden. If you can't argue your position without attacking a person's character, you already lost the argument.
5. Off-topic tangentsStay on topic. Keep it relevant.
6. Instance rules may applyIf something is not covered by community rules, but are against lemmy.zip instance rules, they will be enforced.

Encyclia makes ORCID records available on the Fediverse. You can use it to follow researchers who don't have a Fediverse presence and see their new publications on your feed! Or you can follow your own ORCID record from Mastodon (or Akkoma or Misskey etc.) and share your academic works with your followers.

This project is currently in pre-alpha planning. The ORCID bridge is not yet available publicly and this website is purely informational for now. If you have feedback to share on academic communication via decentralized social media, on the merits and dangers of ActivityPub bridges, or on handling bibliographic profiles, now is a good time to help shape the direction of Encyclia.

Kind of interesting that they're approaching it slowly like that. Most other projects just kind of yolo it
