Yeah, but it seems like this is not for the Pro version. There are some ROMs on XDA, including an unofficial LineageOS one, but at least for me the days of running custom ROMs on my daily driver are over.
Gsmarena has the answers you seek.
Yeah their website is really great, especially the compare function! Sadly for the benchmarks they of course always use the benchmarks available at test time, so the scores they report for the two phones are not comparable.
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo seems indeed nice. Performance wise, you might indeed not get that much more (https://www.topcpu.net/en/soc-c/qualcomm-snapdragon-855-vs-mediatek-dimensity-7300), because Motorola cheaped out a bit on the CPU.
I have a Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, the CPU is quite faster, in this case you would really see a gap: https://www.topcpu.net/en/soc-c/qualcomm-snapdragon-855-vs-qualcomm-snapdragon-888
Ah thanks for the links! I find it very hard to compare mobile CPUs, with all their different splittings between clock frequencies and so on. According to your link and most of the other stuff I saw the performances should not be too dissimilar in either way. Given hoe the actual performance of my phone is not one of the problems I think I will just get the Edge 50 Neo.
I'm a bit late but mid range Dimensity chips are generally more power efficient than last gen Snapdragons (888, 8 Gen 1) which means the battery should last longer - not just for a single charge but for overall battery health, as you don't need to charge it as often
Sounds good! Feel free to let us know how it goes after you got it, it's always interesting!
