I don't really game even a percentage as much as I used to. Possibly even as little as a tenth of a percent. So when me and my mate want to play a game we just dive into our steam libraries and play some game from our past. It's so nice to be able to avoid all the drama that you see surrounding the AAA-o-sphere. If we do ever get a new game it's only after we've ummed and ahhed about it for years anyway. Patient gaming is the best. And enjoying an old steam library and revelling in nostalgia is great.
Patient Gamers
A gaming community free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.

The number of A's is just an indication of how many apologies you will get when the game inevitably sucks because it's undercooked. At least indie devs put the Early Access tag on to warn you it's raw, big devs aren't even polite enough to warn you (but will gladly take your money)
I bought a PS4 pretty late myself and it’s been such a great console. So many titles that feel cinematic and broad. Death Stranding got mixed reception but it’s such a vast and detailed game. I love getting lost in PS4 titles.
TLOU was such a beautifully brutal experience. I love hearing stories from fellow gamers experiencing such great games for the first time.
I used to wait until consoles started breaking and refurbish them. I got my ps4 pretty early that way. A dude had cockroaches and they fried they power supply. He gave it to me, I put it in several bags and left it in a hot car to kill the bugs, then replaced the power supply and cleaned it out.
I gave it to my niece a few years ago and she’s still playing it every day.
The new ones seem to be holding up. No one has brought me one. Maybe people are just getting better with tech.
You are quite the champ to willingly deal with bugs in electronics! What you did helped reduce e-waste though and enriched your niece’s gaming experience. Well done.
Similarly, I found an old original Xbox in our closet one day (it belonged to my wife’s ex and he left it behind). I dug it out, cleaned it up a bit, soft-modded it, and now I can play games from both the hard drive and some old games I bought for dirt cheap. Stuff like Doom 3, Far Cry, Streets of LA, etc.
The PS4 is my main gaming device, I just can't afford anything else, but if I could I would get a PS5 or a Steam Deck (I'm pretty sure a revision is in order for both consoles lol, that is why I am even more stalled).
I am currently playing Batman Arkham Knight and what a game!
It is a shame that this franchise took another route with the next game, it really doesn't seem like a 2015 game, and I don't even have the PS4 Pro which might have some perks for these kinds of games, mine is the slim model.
Uncharted
That's still a series I've yet to start but I'm sure I'll love them.
The PS4 in our house has slowly lost favour to Xbox with everyone. I still keep it set up though for the exclusives.
