That was the funniest bit for me. I loved this episode.
Loved this episode, weirdly my favourite aspect was seeing all the "Other Deck" characters again: Delta shift, Westlake, Barnes, Bingston, Meredith, Stevens and the cadet who needed help studying.
Stevens in particular showed his worth as an organised and thoughtful adjutant to the Captain, was great to see him as something other than Ransom's biggest fan or just the butt of jokes.
I thought this was a nice palate-cleanser.
The premise is a genre staple, including of course the original "Lower Decks" episode. I particularly enjoyed just how full of bullshit a typical day is for Captain Freeman.
This episode almost gives me Last Airbender "Tales of Ba Sing Se" vibes. It was especially nice to get to check in on a bunch of regular side characters for what might be the last time.
At the end of the episode, I was like, "Oh my gosh! It's that one random cadet!"
I also chuckled at Shax's conflict; I thought they were going to reveal he had been living with some sort of engramic virus or something after an accident.
They brought back the Highwave Hotjo mug. I thought that was specifically a Cardassian design.
Also I just happened to buy my own recently.
The Bughoons were so cute.
