The girl’s not a redhead, the dress is too dark, the sash is not triangle shaped and the tiara is not golden
And somehow, I picture Fiona with green skin but that might be the later movies that throw me off

I identified the guy as Farquad immediately and still didn't piece together that she was Fiona. If nothing else, that dress really is way too dark and a completely different style. She's just a girl in a dress.
Once you see Farquad, I think "who is the princess in Shrek that wears green?" You would assume they're a matching costume. I'm not saying it's a flawless recreation, but it shouldn't be hard to see what she's going for. I wouldn't shit on it is all.
