Really? One of the worst people ever? That's the top of the chart; Adolf Hitler and Joe Rogan?
Garbage "journalism" lmao
These kind of headlines really make us look like crackpot to the right. Joe Rogan is not one of the worst people ever.
He's a self interested comedian and Podcaster who platforms people indiscriminately. The conservatives have made themselves available to him, and he has shows to make. He has plenty of liberal guests that don't get confrontational or hostile interviews and most of his personal politics are pretty liberal.
Rush Limbagh, Alex Jones, Bill O'Reilly were all actually conservative right wing monsters.
Inviting the loons from both sides of the aisle is why he was on horse paste during COVID. His lack of fact checking give oxygen to some of the worse people.
Joe did buddy up to Alex pretty good.
He's making entertainment. But he also pushed back on him alot, or at least he used to. He really lets people go off though because it's a 3 hour talk. He doesn't have to keep them on track or concise. There are lots of episodes where crackpots come on and the reaction isn't "this guy is right".
It is a really long format show to watch and actually get context for if you don't enjoy him at all. Too many people consider him a monster just from snippets or articles, which is why I wish people would chill with the hyperbolic claims.
He's friendly with people who are nice to him and help him provide good content for his audience. Unfortunately, the more he's villianized the more that becomes exclusively right wing shills. He's not just gonna stop the show because the people willing to book skew right. He was booking Elon before he became so publicly problematic. He is also the reason Neil deGrasse Tyson was popularized. And he has research paper authors on fairly regularly. It's a mixed bag.
Yeah, though in his (incredibly lukewarm) defense he seemed more interested in the batshit crazy aliens-control-the-government theories than the more pedestrian conservative stuff, although the line between the two has greatly narrowed over the years.
It'll be a groundbreaking interview from one of our times greatest journalists /s
Joe Rogan is the single reason I won't touch anything Spotify with a 20 feet pole anymore.
Yep. I had enjoyed the podcast early, when it was aliens and comedians and good old government conspiracies. Not so much the mma stuff, whatever.
Then it got big and he started enjoying the smell of his own farts ( or something, allegedly). And stopped using the dmt. And it went downhill in a random walk down.
Them came spotify and i knew it was all crap from there on out. A few episodes here and there that make it to youtube ive watched , but meh.
Yep, cancelled my 10-or-so-years subscription in part because of this clown. Tidal is just as good tbh
Oh! So you agree with Kanye then?
I must have missed the part where Tidal paid Kanye 100 million dollars for exclusive rights for whatever shit that birdbrain puts out.
Same here. It was extremely easy to import my playlists. I can't recommend Tidal enough.
This might be asking a bit much but could you try to sell me Tidal, if you got the time? I thought about quitting Spotify for some time but have not so far.
Sure thing. It's the same service in pretty much every respect. Except without Joe Rogan profiting from it because of some insane $250 mil agreement to push his toxic right wing misinformation show.
They have the same music, the same podcasts, same general search and playlist features. They don't ever try to upsell anything or play ads. They're also $3 cheaper than Spotify.
Even without the Rogan nonsense, I would have switched to Tidal if I had known about it.
It also pays artists a larger cut than spotify.
It costs the same (or even less by now?), has virtually the same library and (if you are into that) offers higher quality music files. Oh and the biggest plus: doesn't platform nazis like Rogan.
Does Kanye own tidal?
He left in 2017, according to goggle.
Sounds good. The last point brought it home.
For an alternative, I went to Deezer and love it. You should look at some comparisons to see if one is better for you.
Samesies.
The article doesn't mention it but how come Joe Rogan gets such a top billing?
(For context I know of him as some wrestling and podcast guy, never listened to his stuff.)
He has the world's most popular podcast.
He's a former actor who has used his platform to amplify shitty people. Like if Oprah was a roided out dudebro.
I've heard about that but I was thinking there's more to it or some additional context I don't know to make him "one of the worst people ever". I know it's a hyperbole but I'm thinking there's more to this.
Is there room under that rock for me? I can just squeeze in beside you and won't bother you one bit.
We should all huddle in together for warmth
Trump cancels his events for.... Trump?
