What's up with the anti-immigrant fear mongering being pushed here recently? From the Sun, the Express and their likes, no less, shitrags one and all?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Be very afraid of immigrants everyone!

Scaremongering immigrants, barf.

Here I thought the worst part was a child being sexually assaulted, but I guess the worst part was the idea of outrage being directed at the perpetrator.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

That's not outrage being directed at the perpetrator, it's outrage being directed at an entire demographic of people of which the perpetrator happens to belong.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 5 days ago (3 children)

We must have read two different articles. Can you quote where in the linked article it said that?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

Oh I don't know maybe the first three words?

MONSTERS APPEAL MIGRANT

Or the next three words that follow

the MONSTER migrant

Instead of maybe "the rapist", no we got to tie in that he is a migrant in all caps, at every possible turn.

Also further down referred to as

the MONSTER

Or

the migrant

Oh and also let's rope in some unrelated burglar who also happens to be a migrant.

All very easy to spot so I figure you're not really asking in good faith, just like someone who has an agency in "just asking questions" would do.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

So you believe a child rapist isn't a monster, and that we aren't allowed to have heated discourse about the legal loopholes being utilized for foreign criminals to escape justice?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Nope, not what we were talking about mate. Op said:

You said :

It's not in the article, it's in the comment you were replying to. What am I missing?

So don't try to move the goalposts just because you talked shit, I'm sick of this bullshit.

We were talking about why a, admittedly monstrous, rapist needs to be used to demonize a whole demographic. You pretended like that wasn't in the article, I proved it was, that is the fucking conversation we're having here.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Damn the projection massive.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Still no relevant response to what I pointed out, buddy,.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

I'm not obligated to invest any more serious energy into you, bud. We're allowed to disengage if we feel someone lost the plot.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 5 days ago (1 children)

just an observation, but replying to them is not disengagement.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 5 days ago (1 children)

You want some engagement too now?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago

Dr of what? Sealioning?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago

Are you a little bit slow?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 5 days ago (1 children)

It's not in the article, it's in the comment you were replying to. What am I missing?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 5 days ago

What am I missing?

All the context.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago

The outrage is directed at the perpetrator's identity, not their actions. No sympathy for the perp, but racism is never excusable.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

It doesn't matter what you think because you're a racist dummy.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

And you're a pedophile. See? We both make dumb accusations on the internet.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago

Assuming you are not trolling:

The Sun is being criticized for:

  • targeting a group instead of an individual
  • using scare language when describing this group

Let's say I want to report on "Police finds wanted man hiding in sofa" (currently on BBC with that headline)

My hateful newspaper do a quick check of his Twitter, and go with "Wanted criminal TRANS ALLY found CRAWLING inside leather furniture"

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

A MONSTER migrant

Nazis are dumb.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Does anyone have more info on this situation? This article is super sussy.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

More information: the Sun regularly makes shit up to get the racists frothing. Even when it doesn't just make shit up, it presents it using inflammatory language to get the racists frothing. They used to have a picture of a topless woman every day on page 3, often 16 year olds.

In short, the paper is just a cess pit.

Yeah, I know British news doesn't have a uhhhhhh great history.

Based on the article, it sounds like they may be exaggerating the word "assault" given they gave no specifics, and it sounds like the judge legally wasn't allowed to consider that case during the hearing.

I'd rather that it be difficult to remove immigrants than too easy to.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago

I mean, I'm sure something happened. But The Sun is not what I'd go to for a calm, objective look at something.

checks Kagi and Google News

Nobody else is covering it as of this writing. Now, maybe there's a really big story here. But given the information I currently have available, I'm kind of inclined to doubt it.

If there's something really outrageous, I imagine that other media will also cover it.

The juxtaposition of this article, with the other article recent posted about the 13 y/o being harshly sentenced for participation in the riots, is rather nauseating.

Legal priorities.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Do you have any problem with far right thugs who attempted to burn people alive ending in prisons?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago

Absolutely.

This is definitely one time when the bot is useful, correctly identifies a junk source.

Sheikh came to Britain in 2006 as a mature student before overstaying and refusing to leave once his visa ran out in 2011.

The migrant even attempted to stay by submitting a fake degree diploma which he had never actually achieved, according to Tribunal papers seen by The Sun.

Should've been deported for his first offense long before a kid got raped.
