I’m surprised they are still adding online features for a 7 year old console. Maybe they are testing this before officially adding it to the Switch 2.
It probably means that they are going to keep using the Switch Online backend for their next console. Why throw away working friends lists and online matchmaking?
Yeah most likely, but I wouldn't say their online services work well.
