All of fucking Lemmy.

I'm a normie, I dont Linux, I dont communist, I dont vegan, I dont FOSS, I dont care about hiding behind over 9000 proxies for muh privacy.

I used to Reddit for memes, lulz and banter but they killed my preferred app and turned the site to shit so I bounced to the alternative, but in the last year this place is becoming increasingly fuckin negative, I find more actual humor on facebook.

Some of you need to laugh at a fart joke once in a while.

I agree. While 99% of the Star Trek stuff is humor, and most of the stuff posted here (outside of politics) is as well, I feel you. We've done great things covering hockey and F1. It's just that this kind of platform tends to attract a very specific demographic. If you don't see communities that fit your interests, I am willing to help you create and foster them.

I completely agree. What's more, none of my hobbies have a lot of posts. I myself am an occasional poster at best and I'm not interested in being one of at most 4 people posting in those communities. I'm thinking about finding a third party or otherwise foss or just better reddit client and just browsing.

Lastly, it's fucking impossible to avoid politics on lemmy, american politics especially. Even in communities that I wouldn't say are explicitly political, people find ways to squirm in some bullshit. I'm tired, boss. Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other.

I commented on one of my other accounts that I.was looking at the BYD electric sedan because its cheap, fast AF and I can charge it off my home solar.

Apparently I am party to the slaughter of The Uyghur people and I should be ashamed of myself.

I have the same experience. It's even worse because I do Linux and FOSS and privacy and vegetarian but make a comment or post at your peril because people love to downvote and argue over literally everything.

Why not just block the communities you don't want to see?

Do you have a few minutes to talk about our Lord and Saviour, Linus Torvalds?

Sorry, too busy posting from Arch (btw). And yeah... there should be another mountain in the distance in the shape of a penguin. Or, more specifically, some loose rock formations doing their damndest to compile Gentoo,

eh idk, i think like with Reddit it's a matter of curating! my feed is pretty chill, and when it isn't coms get unsubbed, simple as

I have the problem of wanting to scroll endlessly like I'm some kind of Selacao.

I've got nothing to do most days other than scroll. If you curate like you're intended to do, content runs dry here fast. I'm doing my best to make new stuff for people here.

If you spend some 30m-1h everyday you get plenty of content, at least in my experience. But hey, idk. Thanks for posting haha

I need to add that I am part of the problem with Star Trek
