News from fediverse
@[email protected] My understanding is that their AT-based federation has been fully live and open (ie not invite only) since February 22nd. So Musk buying BlueSky wouldn't make much difference, you and any number of your friends could remove your account from his node while continuing to communicate with the same circle you were on, much as if Rochko sold out (yes I know he won't!) to Musk.
Really? How many "federated" AT protocol platforms are there?
@[email protected] Friend of mine who was formerly a forum moderator will not touch anything that is community moderated.
Everything you love can be destroyed by people with too much money as long as we let people have too much money.
Billionaires and freedom are incompatible.
@[email protected] He would buy #bluesky to dismantle it and incorporate it's technology into X. It would just be a spite move.
What I am worried about is him trying to get X on the #fediverse in another act of spite.
@[email protected] lmfao imagine seeing fediverse completely failing and resorting to whataboutism instead of thinking what could be the problem
@[email protected] I tried Blue sky for about a month and just couldn't get into it. While Mastodon doesn't have quite enough people for great conversations everywhere, it does seem like the ones that happen are wonderful.
