There’s a cinema in Munich that does the same with The Rocky Horror Picture Show
There are a lot of theaters that have regular Rocky Horror showing. Which combined I think would easily surpass this. Unfortunately, the article doesn't say when they started screening it, but I know Rocky Horror showing that go back in the 90s.
Honestly the statistic is absurd. A Chinese film that's required to be played in schools probably has more screenings.
"One of the most" does a lot of the lifting there.
As far as I know they go back to the original release and it has the record for the movie staying in theater the longest
i haven't seen it yet. i have a sort of obsession with order so i'll watch it only after watching close encounters of the first kind and close encounters of the second kind.
Those are super rare and hard to find. You might try eBay.
At least that means you'll never watch Movie 43.
i'm still waiting for the first rock from the sun!
Best answer yet lol
That makes sense.
The location is predominately for tourists, since its a campground.
Id be annoyed if I lived in a neighborhood where the theater only played one movie every single day for a year. Which... actually happened during the pandemic. 😭
Why would a theater be open during the pandemic?
Same answer as always. Money
If you've never been, Devil's Tower is a pretty cool thing to see in person. South Dakota is a great place to visit. Just don't ever move there. As a State to live in, the Dakotas only come in suck and suckier. I mean at least it's not the Deep South, but still.
But have you been to walldrug?
Where the HECK is WALL DRUG?
And an honorable mention goes to the Corn Palace.
Spent a night there with "Suntrek" company (probably no longer exists) mid 90s and watched the movie open air. The best part was to see devil's tower in the movie, then turn your head to the right & look at the real thing.
Devils Tower is really cool.
Literally, watching movie as I read this.
Kid’s about to get hit by Roy’s truck….
Stupid fucking kids.
I don't know what a KOA is,
and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.
Kampgrounds of America. A chain of commercial campgrounds that provide things like RV hookups and such at various sites.
It's a campground chain in the US.
Thanks for posting this; it brings back lots of happy memories for me. I camped there many times as a kid back in the 90s, and the whole family loved watching the movie. Such a cool place to visit. I love Wyoming!
A Cinema in Vienna still play "The third man" as their last showing of the day
Was there around 2015. Looks like they upgraded the system since then.
Great post, thanks for sharing
