MODERATORS

Ultra-wealthy Republican donors are rallying behind former US President Donald Trump following his historic trial and criminal conviction.

Trump, the Republican candidate for this November's White House election, was found guilty of falsifying business records to conceal hush money paid to former adult-film star Stormy Daniels.

While he has lagged behind Joe Biden and the Democrats' fundraising efforts, the conviction injected new life into his electoral bid - with his campaign announcing that it raised nearly $53m (£41.6m) in just 24 hours after the verdict.

Maybe this is just my personal opinion, but I think they should lock the felon and all his supporters up.

Edit: And tax them all.

This is the compromise position.

I understand your point but fairness is very important to ensure people don't lose faith in the justice system. If any one of us was a 34 times convicted felon who repeatedly violated gag orders to blast the judge and the judges family then encouraged people to riot, we would all be walking free and could run for president.

I do have other opinions which I don't tend to share online. Back in the 1800s, they had certain other laws as how they would treat traitors..

[–] [email protected] 8 points 5 months ago

Still do. To my knowledge they were never removed...

There is no bottom to the depths of Trump supporters depravity. Now more than every the MAGA movement is a cult, not a political ideology.

The billionaires are at least being rational when they support Trump - they stand to materially benefit if he gets back in power. The poor folks who support him are just utterly moronic.

Had that same thought, but it's such a small percentage.

That's what they thought when they supported hitler, thinking that once he got into power he would mellow out and they could control him, turns out all the things he was saying he was going to do wasn't him just joking around

I know this is no surprise, but what does it say about a candidate when two people who made fortunes off of catering to gambling addicts being two of Trump's biggest supporters?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 5 months ago

Looking through all these short descriptions doesn't surprise me a bit. Trash amongst humanity, parasites etc

[–] [email protected] 15 points 5 months ago

They’re gonna trickle down on me for forty days and forty nights any day now I just know it.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 5 months ago

These ghouls rushed to distance themselves after Jan 6 when they thought that was the end of Trump, but once again discovered that backing a fascist is better than all other options for them.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 5 months ago

When he says if they can come for me they will come for you these are the people he was talking to. That's why they are paying. They want to ensure they are always above the law if they have money.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 5 months ago

Sorry, all I heard was, "Oohhh, fucking tax us SOOO hard, daddy!!!"

[–] [email protected] 11 points 5 months ago

The billionaires know if he gets elected now they have enough levdridge to get a perpetual get out of jail card.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago

Trump + billionaire elites

and the political idiots who vote for him are okay with that.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 months ago

Are we just trusting the known, proven liar who was convicted of fraudulent business financial records when he says that he raised more money because of this?
