Found a good deal on a 64 GB USB, was a Kingston and a good deal, looking to put batocsra on it. What would you recommend I put on it?

Which type of device are you going to run it from? A Raspberry Pi, an emulation handheld, etc?

Going to make a drive for portable use, mainly x86_64 computers

You simply use this method to flash Batocera for x86_64 and make the MicroSD card bootable.

Make sure to turn off secure boot to be able to launch it at the computer startup.

It'd already flashed and I'm used to USB booting. How do I add ROMs and bios, also where can I get bulk sets

You can upload file to the live system using WinSCP on Windows, or any other SFTP-capable software

https://wiki.batocera.org/winscp

For bulk sets I don't really have any other places but to look for them on torrent or on the web archive.

I have some sets on a handheld, can I plug that into the live system?

You should be able to upload the files into the live system yes.

Will try that. Will compressed(zip) work?
