MODERATORS

I ran a NSFW subreddit that had ~150k people before I took it private. I’m pretty well into fully switching to Lemmy at this point and I haven’t been back over there since.

Do you think it’s better to reopen the subreddit and just not actively moderate or better to keep it dark?

Open it, leave a sticky post saying you've moved to Lemmy. Do basic moderation to keep the admins from removing you.

This was my original thought. I’ll see what others here think.

I agree with this guy. If you keep your sub blacked out, people will just move to other subs or make alternatives. If you open it, you'll be able to advertise Lemmy. Ultimately, that's the only thing that's going to kill Reddit. Lemmy has to grow into a viable competitor and poach Reddit's userbase.

Hell, make automod comment about Lemmy on every submission. Write a set of instructions. Go to xyz URL, make an account, download Liftoff, subscribe to your new community on Lemmy.

Do what @zebs said, but additionally restrict posting to only approved users and set yourself as the only one approved. Also use a script to delete all posts there and repost them here. People will go where the content is, so give them a reason to switch

Nah. Leave it dark. Don’t give the content back unless you can remove it all except a message that says your on Lemmy now
