Okay, so like this is terrible, but come on Reuters, can you not also put the word temporary in front of legal status in the headline like you do the article?

Lol no. Every immigrant except green card holders and naturalised citizens are temporary. That would be like saying wet water each time.

Even green cards can be revoked. I know someone who got their US citizenship when Trump got into office the first time because he was worried something might happen to his green card.

It can be revoked, but the the official name of the card is a "permanent resident card" because holders have the status of "permanent resident." Calling them temporary wouldn't really clarify anything.

Strictly speaking, even citizenship can be revoked; there's a difference in the legal term permanent as it applies to residency and the common definition of the word.
