This is lemmy. You cannot talk to people with any sort of friendliness or familiarity because tankies don't understand such things and it confuses and enrages them. You cannot use colloquial words or phrases because tankies are too stupid to look them up, let alone understand them. And god help you if you call out any bullshit propaganda. The best thing to do here is to just read the posts because if you try to interact like a normal person, you will get removed/banned/blocked/ignored. They don't want to admit it, but this place is as bad as reddit—worse in some ways—just without the shareholders enshittifying use and access.

I'm on programming.dev and haven't had any issue with "communist propaganda"... What communities are you referring to?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Propaganda is not just blatant, in-your-face, "fight the red menace" kinda shit. It also includes things like altering speech and thought through subtle means. The tone on lemmy as a whole differs greatly to that of pretty much anywhere else on the internet, and not in a good way.

And do you think Capitalism is the correct/ideal system for us to operate under?

What the fuck does capitalism have to do with controlling thought and speech? Fuck outta here with your bad-faith argument bitch. Go suck your daddy Pootin's cock.

Umm you kept mentioning tankies, so I assumed you liked capitalism or something. Or at least I was trying to ask you that, but...

The irony of you saying you can't have a conversation with anyone on lemmy without it being aggressive 😂 If everyone you meet smells like shit, maybe you stepped in shit.

I'm trying to ask what your ideal society looks like, that's all

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I despise unfettered capitalism, but I hate communism even more.

There is no such thing as an ideal society. Someone always gets shit on. I'm sick and fucking tired of commie bitches fucking with everyone. And don't go thinking I ever liked it when we do it, either. Everyone needs to start worrying about their own damn selves because ALL governments are fucked up at this point. Not to mention, why the fuck are they even doing this to us, the common people? Why hack my empty bank account? Does that help Pootin or Xinnie or that bitch Modi somehow? Because it certainly doesn't make me hate my government. It makes me hate those countries. It also sucks for the common people of those countries, because while I would like to be friendly those that are innocent, I sure as fuck don't trust them without them having to prove themselves to an extreme because of what their society is like. I have lived and frequented other countries. I have seen what a lot of the world is like. There is no excuse for this shit other than being trash human beings.

I hear you. I also hate unfettered capitalism and I don't think plain communism is the answer either. We need a system where we support each other as small self sustaining communities, but that's hardly possible at the current population size. I really feel lost in this society, just going along trying to keep an imaginary wheel spinning that doesn't even benefit me. It's awful. Ideal scenario for me is to go off grid and start homesteading.. but I'm just a developer with no homesteading skills for now

I'm glad you two could work through your differences, and celebrate your commonalities.
