How often do you switch cloud providers that this is even a real rather than a hypothetical benefit? (Compared to the cost of dealing with a much more complicated stack.)

Is there a reasom paying them is so bad? It's Google.

I concede that a part of the money goes to the content creators, but I can't reconcile paying Google with my conscience. IMO, they are the greatest danger to the Internet, pushing on all fronts to make it a corporate hellscape.

I rather use Patreon and/or Nebula to support content creators, even if it is more expensive and less convenient.

I'll gladly pay for a service that doesn't thrive on pushing propaganda down people's throats to maximize watch time and that isn't actively trying to make my user experience miserable by removing downvotes, forcing shorts and so on.

I'd rather pay someone to kick me in the nuts. Sounds like a better deal tbh.
