We are sunsetting Google House in accordance with our wider goal of shutting down everything. You will be evicted on march 2nd, 2024 and all buildings will be demolished between march 31 and june 1st. Thank you for being with us for this project!

Why god?

We launched Google House 7 years ago as an attempt to make shareholders think we are still capable of doing something useful. As we focus on making new short-lived products to perpetuate this lie, we no longer have the resources to maintain our rent collection system.

What will you do with the land?

We didn't think this far but the current plan is to leave them as gravel sanctuaries.

the idea is that a vpn makes you more secure (which is not true outside some very exceptional circumstances)

the text on paper is pretty important. Before the new tech you'd still need to have decent photoshop skills to make it work (or pay someone to do it for you)

.. and come to think of it, with photoshop you could just find a real picture of some random person holding paper and change the text

I don't think "learning" is a word reserved only for high-minded creativeness. Just rote memorization and repetition is sometimes called learning. And there are many intermediate states between them.

If you look at the usa, less than 0.5% of children die between the ages of 6 and 18. The least likely age for you to die is 8-9 years old, and from about 12 and up the death chance increases pretty rapidly. A 30 year old is already about twice as likely to die as a 19 year old..

so for most people this won't apply. If you survived abusive or negligent parents though, maybe it's different

you may have heard the phrase "god works in mysterious ways". This is clearly one case of such. Clouds do not normally behave like this, it's closer to what you might think of smoke. And where do we see white smoke? That's right. When the Papal conclave has come to a decision for the new Pope.

It is a message that there is no smoke without fire. The "intellectual" (note the glasses) has a seemingly convincing argument, but is shown to be a fool. The suspicion of sinful, non-procreational sex (notice the falling leaves, which do not play a reproductive role in trees) turns out to be true.

This belief in smoke without fire feeds into the conservative tenets of anti-intellectualism, the tendency to assume guilt based on prejudice and fuels paranoid conspiracy theories. It is also a meta-dog whistle confirming that yes, those other dog whistles the comic uses are really what you think and not just coincidental.
