all the root secrets are available in plain text the generator app at some point, they have to be. moving that to a single purpose device greatly reduces the risk of vulnerabilities in your phone leading to exfiltration via internet connection

mine works for my personal google account, work one is sso and doesn't have it enabled. otherwise gh, aws, auh0 support it, I'm forgetting some others I use. beyond that you can generate 2fa codes too

as hard as the mormons push their religion, this is just wrong. you also have the choice of arches one or the now generally available plain black one, on top of all the special interest ones

try running them in gamescope, eliminates a lot of that type of problem

idk, I have a car and a job that pays well enough that I don't feel right for gas money and such, but I'll still walk/public transit/bike when it's not terribly inconvenient and I feel like a lot of my same generation coworkers feel the same way.

sure money might be part of it for some, but definitely not the driving force in my circles

This is utah though, a state mostly controlled by mormons. The mormon families I know take all their kids' electronics before they are to go to bed, and don't give them back until the morning, some incl 18yo in high school. Monitoring everything they look at to make sure they don't see anything that could make them question their beliefs is common

This is just them pushing the strict control all the hyper religious families in utah already exercise onto everyone else, like all the other silly laws in utah

after a brief glance it looks like it, but that's the same case as x over ssh. otherwise there's things like vnc that wouldn't care what each side is running

do you have anything to back this up other than a fuzzy claim of authority? so far when I see people say things like this they're always talking about a handful of since fixed vulnerabilities early on in the project

you can run a bridge. I forget that friends are on discord sometimes bc it's so seamless, and they can't tell I'm not sending messages from discord either. I do have to use the discord app for voip tho

I just set up grocy for this, no smart fridge needed. I have a barcode scanner, then scan everything I buy, and again when I use it

as someone that forgets that they're in the middle of doing laundry frequently, it was great getting notifications when it was done. I rented a place for a bit that had a smart washer, I actually really miss that.

maintenance and such I'm sure were worse, and I'd much rather it be all local and have open apis, but fundamentally, having a connected washer is actually really nice

I've tried vibration sensors on the current not connected wadher, but I can't get anything reliable enough to be useful
