I'm reading Neuromancer in anticipation of the Apple TV series. I'm impressed with Gibson's writing. It's quite a stylistic change from the last book I read (Handling the Undead by John Ajvide Lindvquist).

Admittedly, I don't know much about modern speedboats, but the full flip probably saved their lives. In the old days, flipping onto your head at damn near 200 mph was certain death.

It happened to me today. "We want your feedback on Outlook predictive text!". Well, it couldn't predict that I wanted it to fuck off, could it?

Yep. Egg + sriracha for me.

I looked for the link to The Onion. I think I audibly sighed when I didn't find it.

My favorite was a little one with interchangeable blocks for 0.2 mL and 0.5 mL tubes. A student broke the latch, and I still used it for years with a daisy chain of four zip ties holding the lid closed during runs.

Sure, give it a shot. Give them hell at town halls. Still, pinning any hope on Republicans doing the right thing is setting yourself up for disappointment.

There's a Mitch Hedberg joke in there.

We're never going to get 4 Republican representatives, much less 15 Republican Senators. How many times since January have we said, "Surely, Trump will cross a red line and Republicans will turn on him!"? He has manipulated the stock market, crashed the economy, defied the courts, renditioned innocent people to foreign gulags, and yet Republicans in the House and Senate have at best done nothing and at worst defended his actions. The Republicans have no red line and we need to stop hoping that they will ever do the right thing unless it is in their own self-interests.
