Looks fantastic! Thanks for your effort in this. Really looking forward to the season and your GDTs!

Already lots of good points here, but I’d add an additional thought: if the use case is writing plus lightweight computing (email, web browsing, messaging, etc.), you may also want to consider an iPad. It, too, plays in the Apple ecosystem along side her iPhone and provides a lightweight and portable device to work on.

They’re pretty dead simple to use and you aren’t stuck with a single, permanent keyboard. There’s multiple first and third-party options for keyboard cases/folios and you then have the option to use a nice desktop keyboard at her usual work location.

And, something that is much rarer on laptops, you also have the option of cellular. If connectivity and mobility are important, an iPad would provide both.

What’s the definition of insanity? Seriously, just give Quebec their team. They’ve suffered long enough.

Unfortunate that this appears to be taking longer than Apple would have liked, but glad they’re not rushing anything out the door. I remember the big brouhaha in the media over the Intel modems Apple used in some phone variants.

What would be super cool though is if once the modems are good to go, Apple is able to do something akin to Google Fi and provide a better carrier experience and allow automatic switching between partner networks.

Kinda sad the mini form factor didn’t pan out. I wished Apple would have done a iPhone Pro mini; would have purchased one in a heartbeat.

The webOS on my LG isn’t bad per se, but it’s worse than using the Apple TV hooked up to it. I’ve personally found that a box of some sort plugged into the TV well slays offer a better experience.

I just occasionally plug my TV into Ethernet overnight to slow it to pull updates. No WiFi.

Obviously client side, but Apollo for Reddit allowed you to bin saved posts into specific categories. I understand it wasn’t trivial to implement, but hope a Lemmy client is able to implement something similar one day.

Not that I like Trump, but the answer to your question is in text you quoted:

…shall have engaged insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.

As the Constitution is ultimately a legal document, it would stand to reason that you would need a legal determination that someone is an insurrectionist, namely being charged with and convicted of insurrection.

Just wanted to say it’s awesome of you to take this on. Much appreciated!

I’ve picked Dead Cells back up on Steam Deck, playing on custom mode to always get the gear I want. Not the “proper” way to play, but it’s just fun to spend a bit flying through biomes killing things for a while. It’s why I love games that build in all sorts of extra features like this; I get to enjoy the game on my terms.

Good luck with that. With our first past the post system, until capital “L” Libertarians actually start pulling out meaningful state and local wins, these presidential campaigns will be nothing more than elaborate fundraisers.

Here’s to hoping they at least put the front-facing camera on the long edge like the 10th generation iPad.

Would also like to see something interesting with the Smart Connector, like introducing some wireless charging capabilities, or with the Pencil to having drawing/writing not be so slick and free of resistance.
