The internet is fragmenting since a few years, on the one hand you have the "surface web" where there is all the commercial stuff that google indices and finds... and then there are the other, way more interesting parts like webrings, the gopherverse, gemini, the whole "retro-web" scene, hell... even the BBS scene is very much alive and kicking.
Yeah, google is focussing more on easily marketable content that is easy to monetize... that is their business model.
Die meisten für mich interessanten Blogs habe ich gefunden, weil sie als Link in Mastodon-Profilen hinterlegt waren. Auf die Idee, danach speziell in Suchmaschinen zu suchen bin ich ehrlich gesagt noch nie gekommen.
Ich schon, besonders reise Blogs. Wenn es irgendwo hin geht und man dazu ein paar Berichte lesen will, war das Recht praktisch
Leider zeigt ja auch das verlinkte Blog schon, wo das Problem liegt: Am Ende willst du ja echte Reiseberichte von echten Usern lesen und nicht irgendeinen PR-Text von einem professionellen Reiseblogger, der dann Geld damit verdient, dass er bestimmte Restaurants und Hotels empfiehlt. Das ist ja keine echte Empfehlung mehr. Es macht daher schon Sinn, dass Google hier Reddit stärker hoch rankt, auch wenn Google damit sehr schnell Reddit töten wird, weil es natürlich dann jetzt absolut Sinn macht, dass man als Hotel oder Restaurant in den entsprechenden Subs unterwegs ist und sein eigenes Hotel als angeblichen Geheimtipp verkauft. Was ja gerade echt gut geht, da Reddit bekannterweise seine Moderatoren vergrault hat.
Das auf Reddit irgendwelche Sockenpuppe gegenseitig Produkte empfehlen ist aber auch schon ein alter Hut. Suche Mal nach "Reputation Management Reddit"...
Unless a search engine is sorting the results randomly, there is always SEO. Sure, the search engines' own decisions make it even worse, but it's also natural that at some point the internet is too big for the desired result to be one click away.
