We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time (tm) ). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.

I was recently in the same place as you and i've bought this.. i have 2 x 16TB drives and 2 x 6TB drives in it all presented as individual drives.. i've spent the last week syncing my data to the drives and it's been faultless (this is a backup server for me)
I run Proxmox on a Lenovo USFF m910q and have passed the USB controller through to a windows VM running on it and file transfers max out the 1GB connection using rclone.
